Early Starts

I was up pretty early this morning to send my brother and his best friend off on their drive across the country.   As a result, I had a much earlier start then usual, starting my breakfast (you guess it – oatmeal with peanut butter and banana) at around 6:30..lasting until about 7:20.  For some strange reason, breakfast is the one meal that I can eat slowly…Still a bit groggy, I took my time with my morning routine and finally began my workout a little before 9.  I did this one today and was absolutely drenched in sweat afterwards (sorry, gross…).  It was a great and energizing way to start my morning.  Right after I finished I jumped in my pool and stretched before grabbing a quick post-workout snack of cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, and watermelon.

The earlier start made me hungrier for lunch much sooner today, so I made myself something a bit before noon.  I was so excited to eat it that I forgot to snap a picture, but it was delicious!  On one holey piece of ciabatta that I halved, I mashed a slice of avocado and topped it with some sliced carrots and broccoli on one side, smeared some cream cheese on the other, and then put them together. Mmmm….I also had some leftover asparagus on the side, and then satisfied my sweet tooth with nonfat vanilla Chobani, combined with one chopped date, sliced cantaloupe, semi-sweet chocolate chips (probably should have limited those a bit more…), and sprinkled some cinnamon on top.

I normally don’t share posts without any photos but I had such a satisfying, and in my opinion, appetizing morning that I felt the need to share.

Here is one, though, for a quick douse of inspiration that makes me smile…
