Chi Town

From Ann Arbor we made our way to Chicago to visit another one of Beau’s friends from Nova. We went first thing to claim a parking spot on a street near his apartment farther North from downtown toward Evanston. Once more settled, we walked to a cute cafe in the area called Dolce Casa. I started off on the right foot by ordering an apple, kale, and celery juice, and Beau seemed to feel the same about his “Classico” panini.

We spent the day wandering around the city, checking out Millennium Park and “The Bean” (although admittedly we did stumble upon it unintentionally), and enjoying Lakeshore with its stellar Lake Michigan views (shocker). Eventually we met up with Beau’s friend when he got off work, and the three of us went to Giordano’s Pizza right by the Sears Tower (Willis Tower) for dinner (when in Chicago, eat deep dish…). The broccoli and toasted garlic was lovely, but I’m still a NY pizza girl at heart. This morning before finding our way back to I-80, Beau and I returned to Dolce Casa for breakfast. The scrambled eggs with toast, fresh sliced tomato, a banana, all complimented by a hot coffee just felt so right. And from there, we set off farther west.

I will add non-iPhone photos later on, but for now here’s a taste.
